The current proposed presidential budget includes elimination of funding for key programs critical to our ability to provide services.  In a community of 27,000, with a median household income of $66,780, federal program cuts and eliminations can have a significant impact on Del Norte County.

Even when the programs themselves are not cut or eliminated, "reorganizations" and staffing cuts at the federal agencies that run them will cripple the flow of funds to local communities. The federal workforce that knows how to run these programs is essential to making sure the funds get where they are meant to go.

For the organizations that make up the Community Action Partnership of Del Norte, federal funding is not waste, fraud or abuse.  It is critical to the well-being of our community.
